The Waterjet Cutting Advantage
Waterjet cutting is ideal for projects that require tight tolerances, complex geometries, smooth edge quality, minimal material waste, no heat-affected zone, and fast setup and production times. Because abrasive waterjet cutting is a cold-cutting process, it preserves the structural integrity of the material being cut. Unlike laser cutting or plasma cutting, waterjet cutting does not warp, harden, or discolor the material, making it an excellent solution for precision parts and heat-sensitive materials.
The waterjet cutting process can also create complex shapes in materials that may be difficult to process by other means. Extremely low cutting forces—approximately one pound—allow parts with very thin wall sections to be fabricated accurately, while delicate composite materials that could be crushed by other cutting methods can be successfully cut with waterjet technology. HydroCam can accommodate full 4-foot by 8-foot sheets of material while maintaining component accuracy of +/-0.005 inches. With a waterjet stream approximately 0.030 inches in diameter—and as small as 0.012 inches for softer materials such as rubber—material waste is kept to a minimum.

HydroCam Is the Solution You've Been Looking For
HydroCam’s waterjet cutting service produces smooth, burr-free edges that often eliminate secondary finishing and allow tighter nesting of parts for better material utilization and less scrap.
Our team can cut virtually any shape in a wide range of materials with no mechanical stress, no heat-affected zone, and no structural changes to the material. Waterjet cutting is also a safe, clean, and environmentally friendly process that creates no hazardous waste or noxious gases. No cutting oils are used, the garnet abrasive is natural, and process water is fully recycled.

OMAX 55100 Abrasive Waterjet
The OMAX 55100 Abrasive Waterjet is a large-format waterjet cutting machine with an approximate 5-foot by 10-foot cutting area, allowing HydroCam to process full sheets of material with excellent accuracy and repeatability. Using a high-pressure stream of water and garnet abrasive, it cuts metals, composites, plastics, rubber, and other materials without heat distortion, warping, or material stress.
